Upcoming TTM Events

  • Future Leaders: Media Workshops for ECRs Thursday 25 August 9am-1pm – submissions due 17th August Wednesday 21 September 9am-1pm – submissions due 13th September The workshop is run by Owen Poland, who offers 45 years of journalism experience. Owen will equip you with the skills to deal with the realities of media communications and ensure a positive outcome from any media contact - friendly or hostile. The session will cover: rules of media engagement, differing needs of various media, interview and presentation skills, guidance on writing op-eds, maintaining a professional online presence, and practical exercises including individually-crafted interview scenarios. If you’re interested, please email kate.ormerod@auckland.ac.nz with the following information by the due date indicated above: preferred workshop date, and two separate topics you would be comfortable being interviewed about – one or both of these should be a research topic; other options could include a current issue in the public domain, why you joined the programme, your academic hopes and dreams, or the importance of Mātauranga Māori.

  • Future Leaders: Māori Cultural Competency workshops for ECRs Series 1: Monday 15th August and Wednesday 17th Augustonly a few spots left Series 2: Monday 17th October and Thursday 20th Octobersold out This is a short Māori cultural competency series designed for early- to mid- career researchers and clinicians in healthtech development and brain research areas across Aotearoa.   • Mātauranga Māori: Manaaki Sessions for Clinicians and Researchers 25th August 7pm, Online The manaaki sessions are a safe online space for both Māori and non-Māori to participate in open discussions around our understandings and experiences of Te Tiriti, exploring how we act as partners and in the application of research and clinical work.   • BioBridge: 3D Printing in Health Monday 22nd August 1pm – 3pm This workshop brings together an expert panel on 3D printing covering the latest research, possible applications and commercialisation of such technologies. Further details and registration here.
