Applications for Summer Studentships now open

The Te Tītoki Mataora Summer Studentship Programme provides 10-week paid studentships for Māori, Pacific, and other New Zealand tertiary students to experience what conducting health and MedTech research is really like. More info available here.


Applications are now open for both students and supervisors.

Closing date: 12pm Mon 2 October 2023.

RESCHEDULED! Future Leaders Workshop

NEW DATE 30 & 31 October 2023, Auckland

This workshop will provide MedTech and neuroscience early- and mid-career researchers and clinicians (EMCRs) with the opportunity to establish new research collaborations with high impact and develop transdisciplinary collaboration skills across organisations.

You will be encouraged to delve into problems, uncover innovative solutions, identify research projects, and initiate new collaborative working partnerships. You will learn about health economics, project planning, effective collaboration, and Māori engagement.

UC HealthTech Challenge now open


Do you have an idea, research project or product that could make a positive impact on the health sector?


The HealthTech Challenge 2023 is a ten-week Validator that aims to equip individuals and teams with a venture idea, research, or a non-commercialised product or service to develop commercially feasible solutions for the health sector.


By entering the HealthTech Challenge you will have the opportunity to access:

  • A $10,000 cash prize pool

  • A $5,000 in-kind support package to take your venture to the next level.

  • Expert coaching, mentoring and support throughout the programme.

  • Advanced start-up knowledge and resources.

  • Prominent stakeholders and investors from the local and national innovation ecosystem.

  • Cohort-based accelerated learning and support.

  • UCE’s rapid prototyping and digital printing facility.
