CEO Turanga Health

With a career spanning several decades, Mr Ropiha has been a driving force behind Turanga Health, an organisation that has faced and overcome numerous challenges, from designing innovative healthcare solutions to navigating the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic and weathering the fury of cyclones. 



Dr Caz Hales

Senior Lecturer, Victoria University of Wellington

Dr Caz Hales is a nurse academic whose research focuses on advancing safe healthcare practices and equitable services for people living with obesity (PlwO). Her work explores patient and staff factors that impact on quality of care, patients’ experiences, and patient and staff safety, to address educational needs and attitudes of healthcare professionals when providing care to PlwO. See more here

Research Acceleration Programme (RAP)

Stage I Next deadline Monday 12pm 27th May 2024

  • Templates and guidelines are available on our website

  • This is an open call for proposals, and submissions can be made at any time. Proposals are reviewed every two months and awarded within 4 weeks.

  • Stage I funding supports the formation of new collaborative relationships between researchers, clinicians, companies and/or partnerships with Māori and Pacific communities.


Stage II  


Request for proposals is now closed for the current round. The next RfP will be released May 2024.


Note that all submissions must follow the processes of the PI’s institution. Internal deadlines for review will be earlier than our deadline for submission
