About the event
The workshop series will commence on 25 March 2025, and conclude with the final session on 26 June 2025. There will be a mixture of online and in-person workshops throughout the series.
The Whaia te Tika workshops aim to prepare participants to engage more effectively with Māori by providing a better understanding of Kaupapa Māori in a research context. Whaia te Tika has been designed to equip researchers with the tools needed to ensure that Māori are engaged in and able to access the benefits of research in Aotearoa.

Workshop 3&4 Tuesday 6 May 10am – 4pm (onsite Wānanga*)
Workshop 5 Tuesday 27 May 10am – 1pm (online)
Workshop 6 Tuesday 10 June 10am – 1pm (online)
Workshop 7&8 Thursday 26 June 10am – 4pm (onsite Wānanga*)
*Note: Attending all workshops is highly encouraged. Unfortunately, we are unable to cover travel expenses for participants residing outside of Auckland. Online is available for participants outside of Auckland – please contact IUE to find out more about the online option, to discuss any scheduling difficulties, have your questions answered, or if you require more information, please email kahu@iue.net.nz
